Pickleball Birthplace Bainbridge Island

Congressman Joel Pritchard, Barney McCallum, and Bill Bell invented the game of Pickleball one summer afternoon in 1965 on Bainbridge Island, WA. In Barney's own words, here is the story, along with views of the original (and oldest) pickleball court in the world.

Pickleball in Rocket’s Back Yard: Abby vs Josh

Abby "Shooter" Grubbs versus Josh Grubbs.  This is a prelude to the upcoming Pickleball Rocks Summer Shootout here in Brookville, IN.   And this just goes to show, that anywhere you have some flat concrete, you can get a game going!  The paddles are flying in Brookville!

2010 National Pickleball Championship 19+ Men’s Doubles

This is a short, but REALLY good video of defending champion Rick Young and Tim Nelson defeating Jagan Subhas and Paul Coletta in the 2010 National Tournament 19+ Men’s Doubles.  They are very good at getting their paddles pointed directly where they want the ball to go, which is normally right at someone’s ankles!

National Pickleball Championship Gold Medal Match

Check out #1 Seeded team Tim Nelson, aka "Puppet Master" and Chile Chilleli vs. Mike Gates and Steve Wong in the Skill Level Finals in the Open Division at the WrightWood Open which is one of the 4 Majors for Pickleball.  It’s a fast-paced match, with lots of shootouts to end the points.

2011 USAPA NATIONALS PICKLEBALL Mens 19+ Finals

These guys are amazingly quick with their paddles when they get to the net.  Once they get into the heart of the match, the consistency is almost unreal!  At the start of the video, it’s Timothy Nelson and Tony Negrete in the near court against Jagan Subhas and Steve Wong.  Talk about a battle!

1st Annual Cheers Tourney 2013 Pickleball (5.0 Mixed Doubles)

The first matchup here is Josh and Abby Grubbs against Scott Lawler and Stephanie Lane in this first round match in the 5.0 mixed doubles division down in Terre Haute right after New Year’s.  Later, Josh and Abby go up against the always tough, Kimberly Monte and Leon Tomasino.  Sure looks like the Pro-Lite paddles were well represented in Terre Haute this year!

2012 SeaTac Womens Singles Finals Jennifer Lucore vs. Christine Barksdale Pickleball

Pickleball Women’s Singles Championship match with Jennifer Lucore vs. Christine Barksdale at SeaTac 2012.  This is a very high level pickleball tournament, and these are a couple of the best pickleball women in the nation battling it out.  Looks like Christine is using a Pro-Lite paddle as her weapon of choice!
